Happy Memorial Day Weekend! Summer is officially here, which means two things: Tahoe is waking up, and the summer selling season is off and running. This month’s newsletter has a little bit of everything: great new listings, a weekend event calendar, and a quick market update to keep you in the know.
And while the world keeps tossing us its usual roller coaster of change and ambiguity, Lake Tahoe has been putting on a show. Sunny, warm days, cherry trees and daffodils in full bloom, and that unbeatable spring combo of morning snow on the slopes and afternoon mountain biking. (Yes, the trails are finally melting out!) So grab your bikes, your hiking boots, or your favorite frosty beverage, summer is here, and Tahoe is calling.
Market Update: Buckle Up for Summer
The real estate market has been chugging along, with winter inventory hitting historic lows. Tight inventory means prices are staying high, and despite the usual chatter about upcoming listings, I’m going on record, I’m feeling bullish about this summer’s market.
Maybe it’s because I’m coming off a winter sabbatical, or maybe it’s because service providers, inspectors, and photographers are already booked solid, but there’s an energy out there. After 25 years of doing this, I’ve got a hunch we’re in for a busy season, no matter what the doom and gloomers are preaching.
Interest Rates
Don’t expect interest rates to change much; they’re likely to hang around 6.5% to 7%, thanks to a cocktail of economic factors and a little international trade drama. If you’re holding your breath for a rate drop, you might want to exhale not until “the fat lady sings” (or that “big, beautiful bill” finally shows up).
The Lakefront Scene: Buzzing with new inventory
The lakefront market is already stirring with whispers of fantastic new listings about to hit the market. And with pent-up demand at an all-time high, I expect we’ll see some exciting properties come into play. We are excited to announce that we just listed a 30ft boat slip in the Tahoe City Marina. These are very rare, so scoop it up before anyone else does.
Also, don’t ignore the hidden gems; a few lakefronts have been sitting on the market for over two years, and I have a strong feeling they’re ripe for offers.
